Open Green -- the Garden

OpenGreenResearch

In the eco-garden we blend the organic and the digital in one and the same nature. Here we explore how this fusion takes place: examining through digital means the growth, blossoming and decay of plants and insects submitted to natural elements such as wind, rain, snow, etc.

workshop Part1 : the natural setting/ designing the urban garden
friday, march 6 - 10 am @ okno

This is a Fo.am/OKNO collaboration!

Part I: the natural setting (the urban garden, permaculture)

permaculture

“Permaculture is a way of living which promotes a harmonious
balance between all forms of life within the ecosystem.”

Permaculture is an approach to everyday life that integrates plants, animals, landscape, structures; people who purposely design all the facets of their lives to enhance environmental sustainability within a permanent, sustainable agricultural and cultural system - a diverse, complex eco-system, where the all of the elements interact in mutually beneficial ways to produce a whole which is greater than the sum of its parts.

Media Ecologies

With the urban garden project we want to blend the natural and the digital world in one and the same eco-system. We will explore how this fusion takes place: investigate in a digital way the growth, blossoming and decay of plants while they are submitted to the natural elements as wind, rain, snow, etc.
